The terms that apply when you use GiftHint, whether browsing the website or using the iOS app.
Agreement
By using GiftHint
These terms apply when you use the GiftHint website at gifthint.co or the GiftHint iOS app. By using either, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
GiftHint may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Your data is yours. Your choices are yours. These terms just keep things clear.
Website
The website
The website publishes editorial gift guides with affiliate links. Recommendations reflect editorial judgment, not advertiser payments. Prices shown are approximate and may change at any time.
When you click an affiliate link, you leave GiftHint. The retailer handles your purchase, shipping, returns, and customer service. GiftHint is not a party to those transactions.
Content on the site is provided for informational purposes. I do my best to keep recommendations current and accurate, but I do not guarantee that any product will be in stock, at a particular price, or suitable for your specific situation.
iOS app
The app
The GiftHint app is a personal tool for tracking recipients, occasions, gift ideas, and reminders. Your data is stored on your device and synced through your iCloud account.
Some features require a paid subscription managed through Apple's App Store. Subscription terms, pricing, billing, and cancellation are governed by Apple's terms. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store settings at any time.
The app includes a free tier with limited active recipients. GiftHint may adjust free-tier limits or subscription features over time, but will not remove access to data you have already saved.
Your content
Data you create
You own the data you put into the app. GiftHint does not claim rights to your recipients, notes, ideas, or any other content you create. Your data lives on your device and in your iCloud account under Apple's terms.
Delete within the app
Remove any recipient, idea, or reminder at any time by deleting it within the app or by uninstalling the app entirely.
Remove iCloud copies
To remove synced copies from iCloud, manage your iCloud storage through your device settings.
Dataset license
Statistical reference pages and source material
GiftHint's statistical reference pages may compile, quote, summarize, and cite facts from third-party sources. Unless a page says otherwise, GiftHint licenses only the original compilation, page copy, and presentation that GiftHint created for that page.
That license does not transfer ownership of third-party source material. Reports, datasets, charts, and other source content cited on GiftHint remain subject to the terms, rights, and restrictions set by their original publishers.
GiftHint's statistical reference pages are provided as sourced editorial references. They are not a grant to republish, redistribute, or create derivative datasets from third-party source material beyond what the original publisher allows.
Limits
Limitation of liability
GiftHint is provided as-is. I do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and I am not liable for missed reminders, purchasing decisions made based on recommendations, data loss from device or iCloud issues, or any indirect damages arising from use of the website or app.
